Ascension Day service

May 29-30, 2014

7:00pm, Celebration of the Ascension of Jesus

7:00pm, May 29, 2014 — Celebration of the Ascension of Jesus.

Ascension Day celebrates the bodily ascension of Jesus into heaven. The day sits in contrast with Ash Wednesday. While Ash Wednesday comes 40 days before Easter and focuses upon our need for God's mercy in the imposition of ashes, Ascension Day celebrates the victory of Christ over death and his glorious return to heaven. In a sense, Ascension Day "undoes the ashes."

It is a time to celebrate the glory of Christ and the mercy of God on full display. Join us at 7:00pm, Thursday, May 29 for a truly celebratory service!

We acknowledge that Jesus, the Lord of all, has called His Church to be a Church of all nations. With joy and in humility we gather on Treaty 4 Territory, the traditional lands of the Cree, Ojibwe, Saulteaux, Dakota, Lakota, Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
