It is here that "Christ is risen!" is first declared. At the end of Holy Saturday, the final day before Jesus' resurrection, we gather to announce his victory over death!

This service is appropriate from after sunset on Holy Saturday until sunrise Easter morning. This was the traditional time of baptism in the early centuries of the Church. This service begins in darkness and a new fire is lit, from which the Christ candle is lighted. It signifies the light of Christ coming into the world anew at the resurrection. This service ends the season of Lent and begins the joy of the Easter season.

This year, the joy will not be shared as a gathering, but we will celebrate together as we watch the light and listen to the word on St. Aidan's YouTube channel.

The bulletin for the service will be posted here.
