Dear Aidanites,
It
has been some time since the St. Aidan Search Committee has provided an
update to the Parish. As you know, the search for a new incumbent
priest began over two years ago. After three rounds of posting the
position, no suitable candidate emerged. At the AGM earlier this year,
we made a statement that we would be temporarily pausing the active
search.
As often happens, it is only when you stop looking for something, that you are surprised to find the very thing you were looking for.
About two months ago, Bishop Helen forwarded an unexpected applicant for the incumbent position. We met as a committee and decided to pursue an interview with the candidate. It was a rich time of connection, discernment, and reflection on ministry.
